Hundreds of Christian Family Coalition Supporters Attend
2011 Anniversary Gala Dinner with George LeMieux

(Miami, FL) – The Christian family Coalition, Florida's tireless human rights and social justice organization, held its 2011 Anniversary Gala Dinner on Saturday November 19th, with George LeMieux, candidate for the Florida U.S. Senate, as the keynote speaker. The event was attended by over 250 guests.
The evening's MC was Commissioner Joe Martinez, Chairman of the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners. The Cuban-American Veteran's Association, (C.A.V.A.), presented the colors. Also in attendance, Miami-Dade Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz who led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance, and publicly announced his sponsorship of the Christian Family Coalition's "2011 Legislative Invocation Restoration Ordinance", which will restore the popular and time-honored tradition of opening each County Commission meeting with prayer.
The program also included Anthony Verdugo, Founder and Executive Director, Christian Family Coalition, (CFC). presenting the 2011 Friend of the Family Awards to Florida State Representatives, Frank Artiles, Daphne Campbell and Eduardo "Eddy" Gonzalez, for their 100% voting record with the Christian Family Coalition, (CFC), in Tallahassee during the 2011 statewide legislative session.
The highlight of the evening was the keynote address delivered by George LeMieux, recipient of the 2010 Friend of the Family Award for his support of the military's don't ask, don't tell policy, freedom from government-mandated health care and opposition to so-called "hate" crimes legislation. He inspired the audience with a passage from the book of Matthew on how to not hide our talents, but rather to put them at God's disposal.
The evening also included a stirring rendition of Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art, among other songs, by classical soloist, Victor Clairmont.
